Top local releases: Mixology3 by DjFuzz

The best behind the wheels of steel.

Before i get into the review of Mixology3, let me just say a few things about the man behind the deck. DJ Fuzz has been in the music scene for over a decade, whether as a member of Teh Tarik Crew, DJ collective Stylustiks or as a producer. Besides that, he is also the most prominent hip hop DJ in the country, and did i mention he is also a 2 time AIM award winner for his work on malique's album. That album was a HOT item at my shop for months.It stood in our sales chart for a while and please bare in mind that NOT many local artists has that kind of selling power. I recommend this cd to my foreign customers on a regular basis especially to those that want a taste of our local music. So far, since it's release..it's always sold without fail.
They dont seem to believe that it's local. 

This talented individual is also apart of the world famous Bum squad dj's, owner of the Mixology dj academy and also has his own clothing line called Xrossfade (hey fuzz, i'm a size XL hint* :))  
He has done sooooooo much more which i doubt i can put into words.

Mixology 3 is the last of his Mixology series, which happened to be the 1st official mixtape in Malaysia at time of it's release. But then again, i'm guessing it's still is the ONLY one at present time! His trademark sound is there but unlike the first 2 albums, dj fuzz takes us on a more experimental direction in sound and features a bunch of A list names. Big names like Aizat, Noh of Hujan, Altimet, MizzNina, Dandee from thailand, Vandal from canada, Dose2, Mic Bandits, SonaOne, Reefa, beat boxer Shawn Lee, singer Nadhira, the Stylustiks and lots of other asian rappers and singers turn up side by side along the way.

Radio potential:
“Selamat pagi sayang’ featuring Noh is the obvious crowd favourite for its radio friendly vibe and it has a cool music video to accompany it. The track featuring Aizat which also has a similar vibe, is in my opinion the next track to keep a look out for. 

My opinion: 
It's not easy to review a mixtape, so just buy the cd and check it out yourself. Some may say it's messy with the whole track list being non stop and all. But to those that understand the meaning of a mixtape, would agree with me that this was well executed. This is not only for die hard DjFuzz fans but also to new listeners of malaysian/asian hip hop.

Why do i have the rights to review and say what i feel?

Let me tell you...

I worked at Salem Power Station before Mp3's and pirates were common as they are now,

then, i worked in Tower Records who were the best and biggest music store in Msia at their prime,

and i was there when the industry got the best of them..

Along the way i did events, did sound engineering for Alleycats, did gigs at Zouk KL & Viper Room, did productions/recordings and mingled with artists of all walks of life. Been there done that!

Now, all and all around 10 years later, i work for the current No1 music store and franchise..

Rock Corner! I run their KLCC outlet.

All this was done and tried without the knowledge of many that i am a descendent of one of malaysia's well known musical families.

It still doesn’t really give me the rights BUT I am way way more qualified than most of you monkeys out there who hasn’t done anything musically!
